Does Dr. Kelly Use Steri-Strips Over Incisions?

Recommended Posts

In the post op instructions that Cecy gave me, it says there should be steri strips over my incisions, but I don't have any. I took a shower today, and my SO changed my bandages. My incisions are glued, but no steri-strips. I planned to ask Omar today when I see him, but it will be a few hours before he comes to the hotel.

WhenI went they gave me a cloth tape that would be placed over the incesion. I didnt like to use it though because it was too hard to change and it hurt to take off.

They put the steristrips on on your last day before you leave. Mine are finally falling off!

When Omar came to visit today, the first thing he told me is that Cecy will be here in a few hours to put on my steri-strips. He told me to take a shower before she arrived. I didn't even have to ask him.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
