Hello, I'm only 6 days post sleeve and I have been walking up to an hour everyday. My surgeon only recommended 30 minutes but I'm so anxious to lose the weight that I'm doing more. I'm wondering if I might be causing any problems to my sleeve. I do feel a bit sore in my right side after but nothing too painful. Also, I am a stomach/side sleeper. So sleeping on my back hasn't been easy. I find myself sleeping on my left side and when I wake up, my stomach is in pain. I'm wondering if sleeping on my side is not safe to do. I'm also seeing that other sleevers are posting about having drains, I didn't have that and curious as to why not everyone gets a drain. My follow up appt is Tuesday and will discuss my concerns with my surgeon and will have my first weigh in. I can't wait to see if I've lost any pounds.

Absolutely not, 30 min is a great start. If you can walk more, GREAT!! Just don't lift anything for a while.

Walk walk walk, sip sip sip

Drains are a surgeons preference some use them, some don't. I'm not familiar with any complications from not having one or having one.

I had a drain that didn't work, so all that caused was a mess because all the Fluid that supposed to go into the drain leaked into my bandaging, not a big deal, just more work for the nurses to clean up.

Ok great. I'll keep walking and sipping. Thanks for answering my questions on the drain. I was starting to feel like , "should I have had one of those".

I was sleeved on 6/28, and I am already sleeping on my stomach. It helped me to release the gas pressure by rolling around. I am so surprised that it doesn't hurt at all. When I had my gallbladder removed, it took me 3 weeks before I felt comfortable sleeping on my side or stomach.

Wow...good for you. It will totally help you with getting the gas out. It is so uncomfortable for me to sleep on my stomach and though I can tolerate my side, when I wake up I'm in pain. I also had my gallbladder removed a few years ago and it took weeks for me too to sleep on my stomach. Thanks for responding I feel better knowing that I can't cause any damage by sleeping on my side or stomach.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
