Nausea When Taking Vitamins... What To Do?

Recommended Posts

So I have a list of Vitamins I need to take. I was told by my Dr. office that I can start taking them now. Today was my first day. I took my vitamins this morning and became so nauseous that I actually threw up.

How do I take them with my meal? After taking the ones I should have w/ Breakfast, I have no room for a meal.

Here is what I took:

liquid Multi

sublingual B12

B50 pill

Prilosec pill

Biotin pill

Co Enzyme Q 10 pill

calcium citrate powder in about 4 oz apple juice

After all of this, I needed to eat but didn't have any room so I just ate a slice of cheese. When I became sick, nothing came up but liquid. My Dr. told me to take the vitamins at meal times. If I take them before the meal, I have no room. If I eat first, I will have to wait 45 minutes to drink so then I wouldn't be taking the pills w/ a meal.

Anyone have any suggestions what would help alleviate the nausea?

Why are you taking them all at once? Thats about the same as I take and I space them throught he day. I take my multi and B12 right after I eat. Mid-morning I take my Biotin and a Calcium. Mid afternoon I take my b50 and another calcium. Before bed I take Iron.

Try spacing them out and see if that helps.

My Dr. said to take Calcium w/ food so I guess I am just thinking I need to take them all with food. I will try to space them out a little more.

I'm also taking about the same amount of vitamins/supplements, but I space them out over the day. I've always had problems with multi-vitamins and nausea, so I stick to chewables and/or the Gummy ones and I never take them on an empty stomach. I take the rest of my supplements between meals. If you're taking the calcium citrate powder in 4 oz of Fluid, you should try to take that in between meals. I get my Calcium citrate in a carmel flavored chewy from Bariatric Advantage, and that's my sweet treat throughout the day. If the calcium citrate powder is flavorless, try sprinkling it on your meal.

Definitely try spacing them out over the entire day.

Well.. the calcium citrate powder says it is tasteless, but yesterday I took in in Water and dry heaved. It is a gross salty flavor. I do have the chewables but I am on the blended diet.. do you think it would be ok to eat these if I chewed it really well?
