tkslexus 6 Posted June 30, 2012 So I have read about the infamous stalls. I know the stalls exists. However, I just can't fathom eating so little food and the scale just refusing to move. I know people say "but you are losing inches", but why doesn't inches have wieght? I'm a numbers person and these numbers just don't seem to be adding up. To add insult to injury, I got on the scale this morning and it went up 1.2 pounds. *sigh* There is never a gun around to shoot your scale when you need it! Happy Saturday everyone! Diane Cuva 24 Posted June 30, 2012 I couldn't agree more. I knew there are stalls too but thought it would never happen to me! I too can't fathom eating so little and not lose weight. I'm a numbers person and need to see the scale move down. I'm 3 weeks post op and very frustrated. The scale has t moved in two weeks now. So upset but hopefully when the scale does move down, it will be worth it! Good luck to you!
Ms skinniness 3,003 Posted June 30, 2012 I've been there and done that! Except I had no gun! But I visualized it. This is what I call a bounce and I absolutely hate it. Now, I'm just getting to the point i don't care, I'm going to go by the lower point and I don't adjust my tickers. I just put the lowest # in and leave until I get another loss. I also stopped weighing myself every day and started weighing myself on a weekly basis. 1 carbgrl reacted to this
clk 3,519 Posted June 30, 2012 Yes, in the loss phase weighing every third day or less is a good idea, because weight fluctuates daily and it's NORMAL - for everyone, not just sleevers! In maintenance, I find it very helpful to weigh daily to keep myself accountable and it works quite well for me. Now that I'm not expecting a loss, I don't hate the scale as much. Keep in mind that fluctuations in weight can be caused by anything - barometric pressure, too much sodium, not enough Water, ladies on their cycle, muscle tears, etc...the list goes on and on. So if the scale is making you nuts, put the darn thing away and don't let it ruin your day. You've just removed 85% of your stomach, so you're going to lose weight - end of story. Our bodies do some annoying things while we're on the journey, though, so just hang in there. ~Cheri
suzilouise 13 Posted June 30, 2012 I don't own a pair of scales as pre-surgery I know I would be too upset to see what I weigh. I have ordered some which should be here next week. I assume I have lost some so it hopefully won't be too much of a shock when I stand on them. I will also limit myself to a weigh in once a week when they do arrive. I used to be obsessed by weighing myself a few years ago and I have no intentions of going back to a daily weigh in.
