Understandable. I lost 60 pounds pre-approval and only 10 pounds during the 14 day preop and was allowed only 3 shakes a day. I didn't cheat.

I had surgery June 4th also and I was 229. I came home on Friday June 8th and when I weighed myself Saturday June 9th, I weighed 235! Six pound gain there :) I didn't eat at the hospital and only drank Clear liquids.

I've lost 20 since, so yeah, that's 30 pounds since the pre-op shake diet, I think it sounds about right, I would love for this to just pour off me too.

Good luck and be proud of those 32 pounds.

I had the sleeve on June 14th and have also his a stall. I went in for my two week post op appoitment and was told that this is normal. I also attend a support group for WLS patients and everybody said they his a three week stall. Some folks said it lasts a short time and for others it was a couple of weeks.

Everyone gave the same advice, take your measurements.

My thought on all of this is that I am 26 lbs down and happy. I never want to go back.

Good luck, you'll get through this.

Yep, it's the dreaded three week stall, which commonly occurs 2-3 weeks after the start of most any serious weight loss effort. This article

http://www.dsfacts.com/weight-loss-stall-or-plateau.html

provides a great explanation of what's happening and why. You will also probably notice that after you break this initial stall, that your weight loss will be somewhat slower as well - and this really is good news. The initial weight loss comes from your quick access energy reserves of glycogen (basically carbs,) which burn at a rate of around 2000 calories per pound, while your longer term energy reserves of fat that you will be drawing from after the glycogen stores are depleted, burn at a slower rate of around 3500 calories per pound - but it's the fat that we're trying to get rid of so that slowdown means that we're really doing what we are here to do!

I never really stalled at this point, or any other for that matter, possibly because I never went seriously low carb on my diet as many do, so I never went as seriously into the glycogen deprevation mode as some (tho that is somewhat speculative,) but my loss certainly slowed down at that three week mark.

Good luck and happy losing!

The stall is totally normal even though very annoying. Your body is trying to compensate for the shock it just went through. Remember stuff is really happening on the inside even if you don't see it on the scale. Inches are being lost and you will be amazed to see your arms and legs get slimmer. Hang in there and don't let the scale rule you...changes are happening

UGH! I sooooo understand your frustration on the stall. I was sleeved on 05/25 and haven't lost anything in about 1.5 weeks. I just want the scale to start moving again.

I hit a stall but started losing again. My nutritionist suggested increasing my calories a bit since I swim or walk an hour a day. My walk app on my phone has me burning 500 calories in an hour. Even with that I still went through a 2.5 week stall. It is natural.
