Does anyone know if you could use cottage cheese in place of the ricotta?

Hello! I came across this site the other day when I was trying to find some new recipe ideas. I made this last night and it was sooo good! I added a grated zucchini into the mix. Thanks for sharing this delicious-ness!

Go to theworldaccordingtoeggface.com.

Shelly has recipes on there for Zuchinni Lasagna, Zuchinni rollups (like mannicoti) you name it she has made it. Zuchinni is her favorite veggie and she has become so creative with it.

I saw the recipe and I decided to do it. It very good and it taste like lasagna.

Shelly's Baked Ricotta

8 oz of Ricotta cheese

1/2 cup grated Parmesan

1 large Egg, beaten

1 teaspoon Italian Seasoning

salt & pepper to taste

1/2 cup Marinara Sauce

1/2 cup shredded Mozzarella cheese

Mix ricotta cheese, parmesan, beaten egg, seasonings together and place in a oven proof dish. Pour marinara on top and top with mozzarella cheese. Bake it in the oven @ 450 for about 20-25 minutes (best) or nuke it till hot and bubbly. I usually made it first in the oven and heated the leftovers in the microwave[/quote']

Yum

I too got really sick and had terrible heartburn. Other than that it was really tasty. I might try it a few months from now and see if I can handle it again. My husband and kids loved it as a dip with pita chips or crackers.

I bet this would be great cooked in muffin tins..perfect portion size......and I think that cottage cheese would work good since you can interchange cottage cheese and ricotta in regular lasagna.

I did too! It was yummy but the cheese topping cooled down an required chewing. I think I did not chew well enough and I was uncomfortable and nauseated with heartburn for 2 days:(. My tummy still is out of sorts and I had to back down from purée to liquids for about 3 days. So I will try this recipe when I advance from purée.
