I Did It The Baked Ricotta!

Recommended Posts

To those that have made this recipe: Do you use reduced fat cheeses? At what stage did you first eat this? Soft food stage?

Thanks

I started on purées and used fat free cheese.

Looks great! Although I must say that when I first saw your pic I thought, "My God, that's a huge fork!" Then I realized it's on your tablecloth. :-)

AMAZING!!! Tried it tonight and it was so good, especially compared to broth and thin Soups. Definitely worth trying at least once.....

Lord have mercy! I made this for Sunday dinner at my sister's house. It was a hit. I made one modification and puréed some boiled zucchini and layered it. OMG!

I think I will use spinach next time.

I had a small square and I am so satisfied! I love the recipe and my skew

Just FYI, I made this stuff, and although it was delicious it made me sick. It's really heavy and it's a lot of cheese. I threw up after eating it.

If it makes you sick, try this. I have done it several times. One time I didn't have ricotta, so I made a thin layer of whipped cream cheese, pizza sauce and topped it with shredded cheese. Just as good but the whipped consistency of the cream cheese made it seem less rich.

Yum!!if I don't have the mini loaf pans' date='what size oven proof dish should I use?i don't wanna use one that's to big[/quote']

I'd probably just put it in the bottom of a reg loaf pan and slice it up? Just don't make it too thick.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
