I can't believe how much pain I was in and I'd rather have the pain than nausea. This is bad and on top of that I urinating every 30 min. I am barely holding down pain meds. God I pray this does not last. My incision feel better but i have a low grade fever. I just had an ounce of New Whey Protein. Any one Else use new whey protein. I can't believe some people feel great afterwards. My sister had a hernia repair and is totally relaxed. It's only 1 day post op and I feel regrets. What am I going to do?

you sound similar to many on the forum and give me doubts. But I bet in a week or 2 you will be happy you made the choice you did and I wishh you good luck.

I don't want to discourage anyone just want to know if others have gone through this and things turned around. Sorry just this forum gives me encouragement at times. Maybe you will be right 1 to 2 weeks. I was hoping because I am 22 tht I would jumped back up on my feet. I've had 2 open heart surgery and that I breezed through but this is much harder for some reason. I pray you make the best decision for yourself. :)

Thanks. The pain is not too bad but nausea is awful. My dr just put in a order at the pharmacy for antiemetic. Prayerfully that will make things better. Yes I am now a loser haha I went from 238 to 224. So I will stay positive and look into changing my screen name. :)

I am in the same boat with you. I am 24 and I thought I would bounce back but boy was I wrong. I had surgery on 6/6/12 and Ive been in the hosp 3 times since. I had problems with nausea, pain,I wasnt able to urine for 2 days and I had to get my gallbladder removed on the 27th. 2 surgeries in one month has put a toll on me but im trying to stay optimistic. Hope u have a speedy recovery.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
