mrslittle 18 Posted July 2, 2012 Hi everybody, it's Sharnae & I am officially sleeved as of Saturday morning, Saturday was pretty ok, but Sunday & Monday was really rough. The acid reflux & th gas is kicking my butt. Far as Dr.Alvarez he is so kind and gentle and has the best bedside manner. He is available to answer all of your questions and personally takes time to one and visit each of his patents 2-3 times a day. Although Dr. Alvarez is not the cheapest option, he was th best option for me. Please feel free to contact me if you have any additional questions.

allnewme 262 Posted July 2, 2012 Crazy question here......The gas pain, is it from the gas pumped in while the surgery is performed? I see lots of folks post about Gas-X but how does it work for that type of gas? I can't understand how it would help with gas that is not actually in your stomach. I hate acid reflux or heartburn, I hope that I don't have that after surgery. or vomiting
StormWarning 194 Posted July 2, 2012 It doesn't the Gas-X will only work for intestinal/stomach gas. The surgical gas has to work itself out (body absorbs it) The walking will help alleviate the pressure and pain from surgical gas by keeping it moving so it can't settle into one particular place and be a pain. allnewme 262 Posted July 2, 2012 I had my gallbladder out and no one forwarned me about the shouder pain from gas....that was not fun. I guess I will get to experience it again in my life. I will survive, I am a tough one.
StormWarning 194 Posted July 2, 2012 Yes You will, we are all fighters and have to be tough and strong to commit to a new lifestyle. That takes more work than most (non surgery people) understand. I use to be one of those people so to speak, those that thought surgery was an easy way out......no offense to anyone,.. but then I got tired of struggling and fighting the battle alone, so I looked into surgery. The more I read, the more I learned there is NO EASY part about surgery. I have to commit myself to a lifelong change in the way I see food. I have to continue to watch what I put in my mouth. This surgery is only limiting the amount that goes is, The WHAT that goes in, is up to us.. Some will battle and struggle more than others. We all have our demons.. SO Yes AllNewMe, you are a tough one and you will survive cause you were strong enough to make this decision. - Not meaning to jump off topic there, just stating. allnewme 262 Posted July 3, 2012 Yes, I used to think surgery was the easy route also. After years of struggling with my weight and health, I know this is the tool that I need to lose the weight for the last time. I understand that some days will be tough. I struggle with sweets and carbs, but I will not allow them to be a part of my daily life any longer. I am sure that I will struggle to get used to Water and Protein but I am determined to do it. I will win the battle. As will you. We are making a choice to change/ save our lives.

allnewme 262 Posted July 5, 2012 Lots of people say Gas-X strips (for stomach gas) and for the surgery gas, I think walking, maybe a heat pad would help, not sure about that though.
