What Are You Looking Forward To?

Recommended Posts

Everyone thought i was crazy for having "elective" surgery. I was happy all the way to the hospital, and till they took me to surgery! I'm over the hormonal part i do believe, so guys be prepared its worst than pms! I am 7 weeks out, starting to get compliments! Every day is amazing, I enjoy something new everyday seems like. My thing I am really looking forward too is....... walking past a mirror in the store and realizing that is really me staring back!!!!!

I was told where we lose weight so quickly our bodies are just flooded with hormones. Some one else may be able to describe it better. I was sad, mean, angry and the whole time wanting to be happy! Lasted about three weeks for me!

OM Gosh, this whole post made me cry for many reasons, one I am sure is the hormones that are caused by the surgery, but mostly because it is like yall are reading my mind or journal. I ALWAYS think people are looking at me and judging because of my weight and the simple things in life are difficult but I didn't know anyone else wanted these simple things. I am sooo looking forward to NEVER having to ask for a table instead of a booth at a restaurant again. I want to parasail, buy a Jeep, be in good enough shape to play softball again if I wanted to. Be in family pictures or any picture and everything else that was stated in these posts. I hope and pray we all get what we are looking for and the happiness we all deserve!!!! Just BELIEVE

I forgot that one....I don't have any pictures Im willing to share of my new grandbaby and me. I hate taking the 'fat' pictures of myself...Im always the one taking the pictures...I want to be in the pictures !

My hormones are a mess now too. Hopeing that calms down soon. I don't want to take it to work with me at the end of this week.

Hormones are stored in body fat. So as we start to burn and lose that fat, it releases those stored hormones and that is why you get a flood of so many emotions. Some people say they could cry at blink of eye, others can easily get depressed, you can be sad, angry, hateful etc. Any emotion is possible. Basically we have the potential of becoming someones worst nightmare until we get through all those stored hormones. I have already been teaching my husband on things that could happen that we (myself) may not have much control over. It's definitely going to take some understanding from everyone who is apart of your life.

I am most looking forward to:

*Babies

*not being compared to my sisters weight

*Being able to eat in front of my grandma instead of hiding in the kitchen to eat

*going to events at the local convention center and being able to fit in the seats

*actually start living my life

I am new to this site. I have been just reading for a week or so. I just found out my surgery date is Nov 20th and I have started to have worries....can I do it....will I b able to follow the rules...will I b successful?? But these post remind me that all the sacrifice will b worth it!!!

I can't wait to sit comfortably on an airplane.

To believe my husband when he says I'm sexy.

To feel good about me.

To enjoy life and not hide.

To not be out of breath putting clothes in the washer.

To wear a bathing suit in public and be proud.

To not b depressed when I look in a mirror or see a picture of me.

To think I'm pretty.

I'm looking forward to not having the steering wheel rub up against my stomach when I'm driving because my belly is too big and my legs are too short to make driving possible otherwise. I'm looking forward to going out to a restaurant and not worrying if I'll fit in the seat or the booth. Oh, and to have the towel fit all the way around me. To not have my feet hurt after standing for only five minutes. To not get winded walking up a flight of stairs. To not always be the biggest one in the room. To maybe, possibly find someone to settle down with and live this blessed life with!

I can't wait to:

*Step out from behind the camera to show I actually am part of this family or at at certain events.

*Wear a skirt/dress without needing Spanx to prevent chafing.

*Not sweating more than any gal ever should, just being anywhere over 65°.

*Ditch the CPAP and the back aches.

*Have one chin.

*Cross my legs naturally.

*Buy panties/bras that don't come in an 8-pack/box.

*Pursue my love of shooting more since I won't mind the audience.

*Shopping for clothing in the 'regular' section and forever kissing Plus Size goodbye.

*Paint my own toenails.

*Be able to play with my daughter, like she wants and deserves.

Looking forward to a lot of things that everyone has already stated, but it all equates to one thing for me. Living life to the fullest with no restraints, no insecurities, totally free.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
