changedman 2 Posted June 29, 2012 I had my gastric sleeve on Tuesday 6/26/12. For years I have been on multiple medications for hypertension. I am 3 days post op and my blood pressure is looking better then it was while I was taking my meds. My Doctor chose not to resume my blood pressure meds at this time. He advised me to monitor my bp 4 times daily and said I may not need the meds any more! 2 sdb1147 and allmyjoy reacted to this
shangefan 193 Posted June 29, 2012 Wow! That is great. I never realized it happens that quickly. That is my one chronic health issue and I pray that it will be resolved when I have the sleve. 1 sdb1147 reacted to this
sdb1147 54 Posted June 29, 2012 Great news & congratulations on your surgery. Blood pressure medications is just one of the health issues I'm looking at either reducing or curing all together. I also have Type-ll diabetes and it's been suggested that weight loss surgery helps with that disease also. I go in on Aug. 1st. to meet once more with the doctor, his team in order to sign off on surgery orders and get my pre-op diet. Looking forward to it. Good luck on your journey and keep us posted. changedman 2 Posted June 29, 2012 Thanks, I am hoping to stay off bp meds for good. Time will tell. I have heard of many people having diabetes resolved immediately after surgery. My Dr says that there is no explanation as to why. Those results are expected down the road after weight loss as with the blood pressure, but it is awesome to see results so soon. Good luck!
