I am praying and believing with you. Prostate cancer survivor here, diagnosed in 2009. I was told the sleeve would lessen the chance of reoccurance. So far, so good.

I've read this entire post and fat irst reading I was so sad and scared for you. Then I read everyone's posts and felt all the love from all our VST friends. Then I saw your 1st results and became joyful. (GOD IS GREAT) Your thread has taken me through a range of emotions and I am elated that things are going in the right direction. It is a true miracle as everyone has said that this was even found. This again is yet another reason why this surgery can be life saving. I will continue to pray until you are cancer free and sitting on the losers bench next to me. God bless you and stay strong!!! Hugs!!!

Hey everyone,

My first oncology appointment is on Wednesday. Wish me luck!! Hopefully I'm cancer free! I don't even know if they can tell me that, but after removing the tumor I hope everything is just fine and I can breathe again! Staying positive for my daughter, but some days are harder than others.

On a lighter note, should hear from the surgeon this week with my insurance approval, going to double check with the oncologist about getting sleeved, but since the other doctors and my surgeon Dr. Looser already sad it was fine I'm feeling confident that I will be sleeved soon!!!!

Thank you everyone for all your love, prayers, support, means the word to me!

Have a wonderful Monday :) and remember to smile and appreciate everyday!

Tekara, So happy to hear your up. This is a pretty scary time for you, and yes, you will be sleeved soon! I hope your look into the negative effects of a chemical that we eat on a daily basis and eliminate it from your diet. It is believed that tumors feed on sugar. So this is a great time to battle the urge to eat any kind of sugars to help eliminate tumors and cancers. if you can go to 60 minutes and download the episode on sugar, it would be very informative for you. I am working really hard to get away from sugar. I sometimes go back and eat it, but then gather my self up, and avoid it at all cost. No sugar for this body! :)

I am so sorry that you have to face this but thank God it was found early. So, pick up your baby girl and tell her that you are going to be around to welcome her first baby - your grandchild - in the future. Then, take good care of yourself. Do what your doctors tell you and if, at any time, you feel as though not enough may being done, go to a nearby university medical center. You can beat this. You're in my prayers.

Wow. I looked those tumors up a Wiki. Most types are asymptomatic. You only notice if they start releasing hormones. You dodged a bullet there. That had to be scary beyond belief. I'm so glad things are looking up.

It kind of puts my stupid little concerns and pains in perspective.

You are so right, Cat. Nothing like hearing about someone going through a real trial to make us feel silly about our mundane problems.

Tekara, I'm so happy your surgery went well, and that things are looking good for you. Know that everyone here cares about you, and are rooting for you to have a long, happy, healthy life. Hugs

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
