I am so sorry you are going through this; I know what it is like to face a cancer diagnosis and worry about what will happen to your family. I was diagnosed with uterine cancer in October and am the sole support of a mother with dementia and an autistic sister. Like you, I caught my cancer early without spreading outside the uterus. My six month check up was clear, but I don't think the fear will ever really go away. The Big C will always be lurking in my thoughts, but I determined not to let fear rule. I will be sending good thoughts your way; I think you will have had your follow up surgery by the time this goes out...All the best. Keep us up to date.

Robbie

All of your prayers have been heard. Thank you so much. So here's the results...

We are lucky to find out that from what they could see on my stomach and pancreas it's looking like it was only the one tumor which has now been removed. I will follow up next week by swallowing a little pill that is actually a camera and will confirm whether or not the is anymore throught my whole digestive track.

Then I meet with the oncologist in Boston and will see what happens which all the bloodwork and tests I will have. then I just follow p every 6 months to make sure noting has grown back.

I am so incredibly happy and grateful :) thank for all the love and prayers!!! You guys rock!!!!!

Wow! This is actually a miracle that the tumors were found! This is life saving in itself! I know it is really scary and to look at your baby and think "I might not be here to see her growing up and see my grandchildren. " My thoughts are with you and I want you to have nothing but the best. Do you have a support person that you can talk too. It really helps to talk about what your going through.

I'm a 23 yr survivor of Lymphoma - I was 31 when it was found and had 3 young children. More people survive cancer than die from it!! Its a shock but you will get through this and thank God that you were going through all this testing so they could find it because your are right, going through an endoscopy is not something that a Dr would routinely do for a 25 yr old! We are here for you!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Had a sleeve in 2017, lost over 100 pounds. Had a DS surgery this year (2025) for more sustainable weight loss. 🤞

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
