Hello everyone,

I have lost my motivation. I almost feel like I don't care, but I do. otherwise I wouldn't be on here. LOL

I think I have been very successful. I have lost 100 pounds since surgery. I am healthy and no longer in physical pain.

I still have 20 more pounds to go. I really want to get there, but when I am about to put unhealthy food in my mouth I tell myself that it is ok this time and that next time I will pass. And the passing hasn't happened. I haven't lost weight in over 2 months.

My biggest problem is snacking! I am a stay at home mom with 2 young children. It can be stressful at times and they have 3 Snacks a day, which I have been having with them.

My surgeon's guide lines are to eat only 3 meals.

I am an emotional eater. how do I stop? I am so scared that I will regain my weight if I don't get this emotional eating under control.

Thank you

If your going to cheat just pick a healthier option. Don't eat what the kids eat because they are at a different nutritional level than you are. Have a piece of fruit, Protein bar (low calorie/carbs/sugar) or drink Water to kill cravings.

I personally eat 5 meals a day because they are small portions. No sweets, junks, and lil to no carbs at all... Water is all I drink most of the day besides a lil tea from Starbucks

Just because you snack, doesn't mean you have to overdo it on calories ect. I eat every 2-3 hours (per doctor's orders) and have still never had more than 800 calories. I have lost 93# in less than 5 months. You can do it. Just make better choices on what you snack on. There are lots of options. Best wishes, I am also a stay-at-home mom (I have 4 kids, 2 with special needs) so I know how stressful this life can be. :) :)

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
