By cutting out the sugars, and eating high Protein, your body will start burning the fat in your body by using it's glycogen reserves. I am addicted to drinking my Premier chocolate shakes from Costo and it has very little sugar. It tastes really great too. Keep away from sugars ASAP. It will help you lose weight quicker and easier. :)

I liked muscle milk. It is a both thick but good. They also have a muscle milk light but I have not tried that one. They are lactose free and contain no milk. I suggest going to GNC or Vitamin Shoppe and buying several single protien shakes to see which you like before committing to one however. It will save you money in the long run.

I started right off using the Wheybolic 60 from GNC, I used it with light vanilla Soy milk, which my Nutritionist advised was great! I never had any problems, it was easily digested and no heartburn and ...it tasted great. I use the vanilla with a drop of two of coconut extract and its fabulous. :D

annnnnd to date I've lost about 60 or so pounds, sooo something mustbe working ;)

I didn't like Muscle Milk I thought it tasted "gross", I tried it thinking I didn't have to mix it and was just being lazy but "ick" couldn't stomach it.

I use the Isopure Dutch chocolate w/Skim Plus Milk and I have it with Torani sugar free rasberry Syrup which makes it taste extra good all in all very low in sugar, sugar adds to weight gain.

Best Wishes!!

I second Chicagochick's advice, but be careful when you find one you like. Only buy enough of your favorite one to get you to your surgery date. Tastes change for many of us after surgery and you don't want to get stuck with something you used to like but cannot stand now.

I used the muscle milk lights from the get go...love them! I bought the rtd ones, easier for me and seemed less grainy than the powders. I advise going to GNC and getting a few different types in singles and give them a try.

I absolutely love the chocolate flavor Muscle Milk, in either the original formula, or the "light" version. I have one shake every day, usually around lunch time. I can also tell you that the Unjury chicken broth flavored Protein Powder (mix with 8 oz warm water) is very good, if you like chicken broth. I didn't care the Unjury chocolate Protein powder...it was a bit too sweet for me. (Someone mentioned the possibility that your taste buds may change...I find sweet things are VERY sweet to me now...I much prefer "savory" flavors to sweet since my surgery.) Best of luck to you!

I loved these pre surgery. Now they make me sick. Funny how that happens

I have the powder chocolate ones that I mix with Water (anything else and too thick) that I drink two scoops with 12oz Water a couple of hours before my workouts. It seems to give me that extra boost to push myself during my workout.

Sometimes I put a tbsp of PB2 chocolate in with it for an extra kick.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
