Do any of you use online trackers? People have told me they are a good tool I tried to go oline and use spark people but it is hard to navigate I think and I can't figure it out...so my question is, is it necessary? And which ones do you find user friendly? or maybe you know of ones that you can put on your phone (apps)...thanks!!

I like MyfitnessPal. I used it before surgery and already have friends on it. The only problem is everyday since surgery it tells me I am eating too few calories!

I use My Net Diary. You can use it online on a computer, or as an app on your phone. You join online, and can use it strictly that way, or you can use the phone app, or you can use both, as they sync up.

There is a free membership and app, or varying levels of paid membership to acquire advanced features. There is also a support community, but I don't use it; I come here instead

I love it. I used it about a year prior to surgery for a while, then fell off the wagon. Started back again on the first day of my pre-op diet and have tracked every morsel of food, activity and measurements since that day. I enter my day's foods before I leave the house, and don't eat a dang thang that's not on that phone.

Did I say I love it?

myfinesspal.com rocks. You can set your own daily limits in the tools menu. It has a great database of foods, even restaurant information and you can save your own regular meals. No more handwriteen notebooks for me...and it has an cell phone APP as well so you always have access.

I second MyFitnessPal. It lets you add food using a barcode and your phone's camera feature. You can save meals and recipes. It is just really easy to use. I have it on my computer, Kindle Fire and my phone. I have no excuse not to log my food. :)

You can change your calorie goals. On the cell phone app, go to "More", Edit Profile, Net Calorie Goal and put in whatever you want for your calorie goal.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
