KRBullardRN 16 Posted June 27, 2012 Ok I've been "lurking" long enough. I guess it's time to introduce myself since I see so much support on this forum and I believe I've found it to be just what I need. My name is Kelly, I'm a Mama to 2 little boys, married and work full time as a RN. I have completed the required 6 months of nutritional classes and will hopefully finish my required consults next week. I will then wait for approval from my insurance company, which I'm told they are quick to respond. I hope to have a date for surgery within the month! I'm super excited and extremely anxious at the same time. I've struggled with my weight since my first child was born in 2007, but was a little overweight to start with. I have gained about 75 pounds since before getting preggo with my first one. I have high blood pressure, sleep apnea, and most recently have been having pitting edema in my legs and ankles that even Lasix won't get rid of. I'm sure I'll have tons of questions in the coming weeks, I kind of know what to expect from the nut classes but I know I'll need more info from your experiences too. I will be having my surgery in Tyler, Texas with Dr. Babineau. Any advice is surely welcome! I look forward to becoming more active on this forum and meeting all of you that are in or have been in the same place I am! Thanks in advance for all of your support! Minckle 87 Posted June 27, 2012 Welcome! (That sleep apnea is a b***h, isn't it? That was a big factor for my decision.)
