Returning To Work Tomorrow!

Recommended Posts

Tomorrow I will be one month post-op and I am returning to work. I really miss work and didn't plan on staying out an entire month but so needed the time to be used to the new eating/water/vitamin schedule. It's a lot to get used to. I still struggle with getting in my Protein and liquids and worry that going back to work is going to make it worse. FYI-I am lactose intolerant since surgery so most of the shakes don't work. I did find some that are lactose free that are pretty tasty but need other options. Any ideas?

I will be in the same boat as you next Monday. I was sleeved on June 4th and will go back to work on July 2nd. For me, I wanted the 4 weeks to get use to the new schedule too. My plan is to do my Protein Drinks at work - Isopure or cytosport both of which are clear and deliver a good amount of Protein. Then I will bring my little container of cottage cheese or yogurt. My job is a desk job but the office has been stressed out since both myself and another co-worker have been out on leave leaving only 3 people to take care of business. My customers know I'm coming back on Monday so I'm also guessing that my phone will blow up!

powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury Protein powder is lactose free. Very good. I highly recommend. I am still pre op but so far it has been the only powder I could stand to drink. I mix mine in silk unsweetened almond milk, vanilla or plain, doesnt really matter because they are both lactose free. If I make my shake with the vanilla Unjury powder, I have added about 1 to 1&1/2 frozen strawberries you can buy in the freezer section at the grocery store. That definitely makes it a real treat. I use my magic bullet and it mixes well. no chunks or clumps and super easy clean up. www.unjury.com. Good luck!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
