Hi all!

I have been on here just reading and getting super inspired, but the more I read the more questions I think of! Most of them will go to my doc and his awesome team but I was just wanting to put this one out there...How often do you weigh yourself?

I do not own a scale and I do not want to own one even after my sleeve(which I hope to get real real soon!!!) Do you feel like it is better to not be controlled by the number between your two "big" piggies? I am more looking foward to all the none scale victories and all the healthy times ahead but should I only get weighed once a month at my docs office? When I say it out loud it really doesn't seem bad I never weigh myself now so why change. I just feel that when I start losing really noticable weight I will want to weigh myself all the time. Will this be a bad thing? More than anything I just want to know how others feel about weighing in???

Thanks to all who inspire me daily!!

Hi there!

I've been very careful about weighing in because, like you, I don't want to be obsessed. :) I do weigh in once a week, but very rarely in between. It's inspiring to me to weigh once a week.

Pre-sleeve I used to hardly ever weigh myself. 2 weeks in after sleeve, I weigh myself everyday. It has become an obsession. I'm hoping it tapers off

I weigh myself every morning. But I write it down also and keep track of my intake in case I need to manipulate something. But as far as being a slave lol no I am not

I weigh myself every day and I'm pre- op. Over the years, like all on the site, I have tried many diets. I found that I was more successful when I weighed daily. It helps keep me accountable. When I go periods of time without weighing, that's when I put my weight out of my mind and before I know it, I've gained several, several pounds. So, I know that everyone is different. You will have to figure out what works for you! I plan to weigh daily forever! :)

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
