On days I lift weights/cardio my ratio is around 35% Protein, 40% carbs (complex) and 25% fats (good kind). On days I don't workout it's more like 45/30/25. I basically raise my carbs on days I exercise. But everyone has their own unique situation and sensitivity to carbs.

According to mfp I get about 40-45g of carbs. Now there are days about on e a week where I will treat my self so my carbs are usually hight on that day.

I am 40% Protein, 30% carbs and 30% fats.

I eat a lot of cheese.

I want between 60-90 grams of Protein. I try not to go over 47 grams of carbs and 25 grams of fat.

It seems to work. When I hike, I up the carbs a little.

It varies by person - how active you are, how much you have to lose, and most importantly, how your body reacts.

I started out with super low carbs (20-30 or so a day) and gradually brought it up until around 9 months out when I was getting somewhere between 40-60 a day. More carbs had no impact on my loss so I was comfortable eating them and giving myself some "flex" in my diet. I've never really watched my fat but due to the high Protein diet (I shoot for 90+ grams a day) I eat about 45% Protein, 30% carbs and 25% fat. I try to make those fats as "good" as possible and I do limit my red meat and fried foods to help that. I am only able to keep the ratio I do because I still drink at least one Protein shake daily.

I was a "slow" loser - it took me 17 months to lose 107 pounds. I now maintain between 133-137 on any given day, with very little effort. If you're looking for ways to mix things up, you can post what you're typically consuming and we'll give suggestions. You could be eating too little, or too much. Your body could need more carbs (mine did!) or less carbs. You might just be a slower loser no matter what you do, too. Nothing I did to mix up my diet to make things move more quickly had any real impact on my weight loss pattern. Sometimes we just get lucky. If nothing you do helps, don't get too discouraged. Slow loss is still loss and there aren't prizes for getting to goal more quickly. Do the right things and you can reach goal, even if it's more slowly than you'd like.

Well doc told me to get 120 in carbs and under 30 grams of fat and 1200 calories. The carbs and calories seem too high. On a good day I get about 800 to 900 calories. I use fitness pal I am always under goal except in Protein. I exercise 4 to 5 x's a week burning 500 to 800 calories a session. Today makes 10 weeks and still have lost 3 weeks out of the 10.????

If you're not overly carb-sensitive, you might find you can eat more carbs and still lose than others. I tried the very low-carb thing early out, but ketosis made me feel awful so I don't worry too much about my carbs at this point (nor do I worry too much about fats). If I stick to my 1200 calories a day and hit my Protein targets, the rest seems to fall into place. That said, I have been picking/grazing a bit more lately, and not tracking very well - and I've stalled at the 168-170 mark for about a month. I'd say that just make sure you're tracking everything, and if you find your weight loss stalls with too many carbs, then drop back until you find your "sweet spot."

Actually I think 120 gms of carbs may be a little high and 30 gms of fat may be a little low.

We need carbs for energy and fat for Vitamin absorption, especially Vitamin D. Obviously if you have lost 95 lbs in 10 weeks you are doing something right, but I can't imagine eating up to 120 carbs a day and keeping your calories at 900 if you are getting your Protein in too. I must be misunderstanding your stats.

Just have your doctor keep track of your Vitamin B and D levels to make sure you are not deficient. Vitamin deficiencies can cause all kinds of problems. I have been very conscientious about my supplements since being sleeved, and I am still low in D. Per doctor orders, I have increased my Vitamin D supplement and my fat intake. I am due for a recheck in August.

I believe so many sleevers go overboard with low carb and fat intake and they end up extremely fatigued and feeling bad. They are losing weight and their health at the same time. I see this in so many posts, but I hardly ever respond because there are already so many responders. Just be diligent about following up with your doctor and lab work. Good luck...Kathe

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
