As anyone tried p90x since getting their surgery? Today is my 3rd day. It's hard, but it feels great just finishing them.

I had my surgery on may 3rd and went to my second doc visit the 19th of June and he gave me the ok to do whatever I want. Those were his exact words. So no I didn't start light. I mean I struggle with some of the moves but at least I'm doing something and over time I'll get better at it. Just finished my first week and I feel so accomplished! And I can honestly tell a difference in my legs. :-) I would def check with your doc and see what he says bc it is a very hard workout. When did u have your surgery?

I haven't gotten the guts to do it yet! I am doing Jillian Michaels's 30 Day Shred which has comparable results and it is kicking my butt! I am so sore all the time!

I got surgery April 30 and got the clear also.. I'm needing a bit more intense ....gravity is taking over and I don't think just biking and walking with weights is going to keep my access skin at bay...

Did you follow it exactly or just kind of do what u could?

I try to do it exactly but if it's too hard I just do what I can. That's exactly why I'm doing this workout. Not like the extra skin.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
