Cheese killing...

Recommended Posts

I think it was obvious that one post needed to die. it was being rehashed when it was an issue that needed to be handled by the proper people...ie: not the members of this board. The other thread where cheese has been talked about the thread starter specifically asked for the thread to be killed. wouldn't it be her right to ask for that? There have been other threads while I was gone that the thread killers took it upon themselves to kill, and it worked. I do not see anything wrong with killing a thread that has name calling, finger pointing and totally gross and angry posts in it. Maybe that is because I care for the board and all the people on it. Even the people I don't like. Why is there such a pull to keep threads like this alive? Why can't we all take the advice of the ones who are masking their want to keep them alive with their calls to "just let it go"?

To say the cheesy posts and thread killing is upsetting is to say that you prefer that the drama continue and the wars blaze on.

Not true, but some of us here have things to say, does not mean we like drama. It means we have something to say. I have been here for 2.5 years and have made many friends here personally and otherwise. If you thread killers do not like what a certain post is about then do not click on it, do not read it, do not reply to it, it is not your job to kill a thread, it is the job of the moderators to kill a thread by locking it.

In my opinion, thread killing needs to stop. Let the mods kill the threads not us members.

See that's one thing you'll always get from me. I don't care if you like me or if I speak eloquently or ghetto. I am me and I'm real. As real as it gets and if I think someone's crying about something that's soo ridiculously silly then I'm gonna tell you. That's it.

As much as I like the majority of the people who play in the "Thread Killer" thread . . . you all know me, you know I like you, but . . .

I have to agree. Trying to kill a thread or even defuse a thread isn't your job, or mine. If the tension of the thread in question is too much, the best way to defuse it or kill it is to walk away from it without posting.

There will always be threads that are uncomfortable or unpleasant. If you really want to make them go away, you have to be able to walk away.

I'm not trying to tell you what to do, I AM saying it's confusing and annoying to new people and to people who DO want to read or participate in those particular threads.

Still friends?

I post on the thread killer thread, I dont think its any differ than posting in any thread. In the thread killers thread we LAUGH and have fun. I dont post cheese stuff in other threads and If theres a thread I dont like I dont go read it...it's Very simple.

I think there nothing wrong with a lighthearted goofy thread to post cheesy stuff in...Just like I dont complain or think theres something wrong about the pray for lapbanders (or what it's called) thread I just simply DO NO READ IT...

Nana~

Ok folks...listen up.

If you don't like the content of a thread, just move the hell on. That's all you gotta do. If you are getting 15 pms about cheese.. well golly gee. Who cares? Move on. No need to pull up a pillow, hug it and cry. Get a backbone already. Roll your eyes and make sound effects like "hmph".

Maybe you should take your own advice. Apparently you don't agree with the point of this thread...so why did you post at all? Why didn't you just "move on"?

Kat, I am responding to this thread. I never said I needed to move on, I simply said if anyone needs to move on then do so. I am fine right where I am. Thanks.

no, telly, what you said...and I quote "If you don't like the content of a thread, just move the hell on."

Apparently you don't like the content since you are implying that we are being sensitive....so..again I ask...why didn't you just move on?

donnab we will always be friends. :)

I guess i am a dumbass for trying to get people to calm down and be nice to each other. I came back to this place after being a gone a month because i missed the support and the friends i have. I am not trying to piss people off by being a thread killer. I am trying to get people to calm down so that matters can be handled by the appropriate people. we have already seen one member banned. why have a thread that is an all out war and risk seeing others banned too? Is mud slinging really better than cheese slinging? I think not.

Peace out, or how ever it goes.

Well..ok

"If you don't like the content of a thread, just move the hell on."

Same to me as... "if anyone needs to move on then do so."

You may agree or disagree or agree to disagree. Who cares.

I am saying.. I did not agree or disagree with this thread. I made a statement. I was fine in the Thread Killers and I'm fine with this thread. I'm not here to kill it, I am here to respond. If you have nothing to say in the cheese thread but it hurts your little heart...then move on. I've got plenty to say. I'm sure you can tell.

Since I've recently started posting again, I've tried to read everyone's posts with the understanding that you all have the best intentions and mean no malice. I hope you will take my comments likewise.

Funny, you say that you are trying to calm people down with the cheesiness. Speaking as someone who gets highly emotional at times, the worst thing to say to someone who has gotten momentarily offtrack is "Calm down."

The rest of you cheese-mongerers also say that you are trying to kill threads with your talk of such gastronomic delights. But the only way to really kill a thread is to stop posting on it. When you post, regardless of your post's dairy content, some member who just logged on will read the thread from the start and become involved in the less comical side of the debate.

I've never been a silly person; I'm more into dark humor...so I might not be as understanding toward off-topic cheesiness. I just wanted to offer the perspective of someone who's been quietly watching for the last few months.

Oh, another thing. I shouldn't have bumped this thread if my real intentions were so pure. But my opinion was SO IMPORTANT that it had to be added to the mix. Human nature is a funny thing.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
