I am 1 year post op and have lost 105 pounds. Yay me!!! My problem is I still want to lose 25 pounds and I on a major plateau. I have not lost any weight in months. How do I get the weight loss going again? How many meals should I replace with Protein Drinks? How many calories should I take in? Thanks in advance for any comments left!!!

Have you been excersizing?

Forget calories replace 2 meals with Proteins shakes or shots and one light meal at dinner

its quality over quantity and counting calories will just tempt you to eat bad calories so look on your plate and you can easily judge whats good or bad.....even though we act like we dont sometimes. I myself have lost 150lbs Without surgery.....then gained it back 4 years later due to depression,so ive been thru every diet on this big green and blue ball

And I wish you the best of luck on getting out of this plateu

Hey, you still have your sleeve and it will get you moving again. I suggest looking up "The Basic Bootcamp Diet" by LilMissDiva and get back to pure basics. that means all liquids for a couple of days etc. This will help get past the sugar cravings etc. Basically, it's going low carb and high Protein. It does get us jump started. I have about 10 lbs to loss for my goal of 140 lbs and it's slow as molasses, but I will get there. Hang in there and keep your diet high protein and low carb from here on out. This is a life time practice. :)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
