Wheezy Whispers-AKA September's Goals

Recommended Posts

I've been very busy with the Christmas rush, parties and shopping. Were also still recuperating from the storm and flood we had. We had several people in the house to give estimates to repair the damages. The house is a mess, well the basement is anyway. I also volunteered to work last weekend because we were short staff, cant' remember the last time I worked a weekend. I've got a lot of catching up to do, so many post to read. I really hate to miss anything.... want to know how everyone is doing.

When I get a chance I would like to get some pictures of the damage in the area from the storm, maybe if and when I get the photos, I will post them.

You guys are so good to me. Yes it's a struggle recuperating from the storm but it's not all that bad. No one was hurt and the only thing lost was material. Everything will sort itself out eventually. Thank you all for your support. HUGZ!!!!!

OMG, the storm knocked over those trees???
e

Yes, the trees were knocked down by the storm. I call Hydro after the storm to see when they would restore our power, they said that there were 113 trees down on power lines in our area. I just a took a tour of the park in our neighbourhood, everywhere you look the trees are down. I took a few more shots today. It's been 2 weeks since the storm and there are still some power lines down.

That is sad; some of those trees look like they were very old and had been around forever.....sad that they are "gone" in an instant!

The roots on the last photo are about 10 feet high so it was a very old tree. The pictures really don't depict how much the storm affected the landscape around here. The weather is really getting weird, the storms are getting more and more violent. Hard to imagine that some people don't believe that global warming is not really happening.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
