cookies 56 Posted June 26, 2012 Yep. I was happy to have it, too, because it meant I didn't have to try to get up and maneuver with my IV pole to the bathroom nonstop. lol.

chad2rad 491 Posted June 26, 2012 If you need a foley, you will get it most likely while u are asleep in surgery.
Fallenangel2904 494 Posted June 26, 2012 From what I've heard it really depends on the surgeon. It's so varied. That and drains- seems like its different for everyone. I'm still pre op and I'm hoping I don't have a cath, but I've had one years ago when I had knee surgey and it's not THAT bad.
karenb4729 309 Posted June 26, 2012 Yep - mine was put in while I was in surgery and came out the day after.... still have the residual of the stupid tape though... that stuff hangs on for ever!
stacey131 51 Posted June 26, 2012 Yep - mine was put in while I was in surgery and came out the day after.... still have the residual of the stupid tape though... that stuff hangs on for ever! kwindham 57 Posted June 26, 2012 No didnt have one but you can request it be taken out before you are awake if you want to. Most drs will try to accomadate a patients wishes. My dr wanted me up walking the halls within 2 hours after recovery, so leaving a cath in would have been pointless.
CraftyV 61 Posted June 26, 2012 Yep - mine was put in while I was in surgery and came out the day after.... still have the residual of the stupid tape though... that stuff hangs on for ever! Lol I still my residual too! My cath went in while I was out and it came out as soon as I took a walk. I remember telling my nurse 30 min after surgery that I wanted to walk. She said ” boy u r fast” lol! It was taken out shortly after my walk. It wasnt too painful.
