Chimera 644 Posted June 25, 2012 Mine said at least 6. The scabs over the incisions have to have fallen off naturally and the scars completely healed. I am dying to get in my tub all the way lol. 1 kamrie37 reacted to this
MinaT 669 Posted June 25, 2012 I was told 4 - 6 weeks and not to do it unless your doctor releases you. I am just dying to get in the pool. I am a swimmer. I swim all winter long and I have my own pool. My family has been holding off swimming and today my son went swimming and I sat outside with him and I just wanted to be in there. Today is my 3 week out and I see surgeon Wed. I really hope 5 weeks will be it. I still have a few stitches that I noticed after the steri-tapes fell off, ugh, thinking about getting them out makes me a bit queezy to my tummy but I am sure it will be easier than the drain. lol
DuranFan1969 119 Posted June 25, 2012 Oh how I wish I could go jump in the pool - it's been in the 90's here in Georgia. Alas, my doctor told me at least 6 weeks. Darn it.
rodswife 155 Posted June 25, 2012 My doctor told me 4 weeks. That's when I was completely healed
kellythestarr 39 Posted June 26, 2012 This is interesting. I was sleeved on may 1st and I never thought to ask this question and the dr didn't mention it. I've been swimming like everyday for the past several weeks. My incisions have been healed though.
JustSleeveMe23 15 Posted June 26, 2012 My doctor said I had 'plastic surgery type incisions' and that I could swim in 10 days. But to be safe, 2 weeks.
kwindham 57 Posted June 26, 2012 my doc said 2 weeks, and trust me, I was counting down the days to jump in my pool. He cleared me at 4 weeks for beach swimming in Hawaii.
glsun0612 6 Posted June 26, 2012 I asked my doctor about Water aerobics and he told me no because its too much of an ab workout... He advised me to wait 6 weeks. However, I believe I'm allowed in the pool to float around after incisions are healed up at around 3 weeks.
