What Is The Calorie Range You Aim For?

Recommended Posts

I am almost 3 months out and currently getting anywhere from 600-800 calories per day. I haven't yet gotten to 1000 calories. What target calorie range do you try to stay in?

That's great! At 5 months I TRY to stay at 800-900, but it's really easy for me to hit 1200 now. Unfortunately, I don't lose at 1200. Never have.

I'm at 3 months, too. I get anywhere from 750-900-ish. Depends on my food choices and my workouts.

Pre-approval phase 6 months I tried to stay at 800-900. I'm still on the liquid phase 3 weeks out and I'm hitting 300-350 just on liquids and luckily my one Pure Protein with skim milk consists of most of it in the am.

I will try to stay at 800-850 until I reach goal, going up only when I stall I will most likely up my carbs a bit, or when I'm doing heavy exercises, I will up my calories a tad, for energy.

i think everyone is so different i have been having major stalls and was told by the doc friday to up my calories to 1200 at least. that will be tuff considering i was averaging about 800 a day now i need a minimum of 400 more. i will try it for a week and see how it goes ??

I'm a little over three months out and get about 1,000 calories per day. I'm losing well. Looks like from your ticker you are too!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
