I was sleeved June 11th. As of today down 30 lbs. 56 lbs down total since starting my journey (see signature).

My doc was also Dr. Aceves' date=' He did my band surgery too last year.

I had some issues 2 day post op with severe reflux in the hospital but it was due to the area where my band used to be, it was super swollen after removal. At about day 4 post op it finally subsided and I haven't had any reflux issues since.

I am never truly hungry. My head hungers LOVES to rear it's ugly head though... some days are better than others, but for the most part it still drives me batty. Like today I would KILL for a cheeseburger. LOL Like - Cut. A. B*tch. For a cheeseburger. haha But truly I am not HUNGRY.

And due to that I am having a hard time getting enough calories in. I am averaging about 200/day currently. My Protein intake isn't where it needs to be but doc said not to worry about it too much right now.

And to whomever said they had issues with the Calcium chewable pills - ME TOO!!! They make me gag and want to vomit!! So now I break that big thing into 6 pieces and just swallow them. Way easier. I've also learned the hard way to NOT take the plethora of Vitamins that we have to take on an empty stomach. Cause if I do I will end up dry heaving and having nausea. This morning I had about a tablespoon of applesauce before taking them and didn't have any issues. B)[/quote']

I read this and had to laugh. There is a new place opening like 1/2 a mile from my called knucklehead burger, and I can't stop thinking about a cheeseburger today, its the first time since my surgery 6 Weeks ago that I have craved something bad. I am currently also only getting in maybe 200-300 calories a day. I don't know how people are averaging 700-800 already, they are obviously better at this than I am. Although I am not drinking Protein shakes at all, I can't even open the container without heaving!! That would probably be a big help... And I haven't started Vitamins yet, bought them but so paranoid that they are going to make me really sick. Its definitely a learning process!!

I was sleeved 6/27/12 as of 8/4/12 I'm down 27 lbs. I walk an avg of 2 miles a day working on four a day. I'm no longer taking two blood pressure meds or two insulins for diabetes. I'm down almost 3 sizes. Weight loss is slow going for me. But every pound lost counts no matter how slow going. My health is all the better for it. :D

I am late to the game. I'm Stefanie... 29yrs old, 5'2. I was sleeved on June 26th. My starting weight was 255. Today I am 216.4. Total of 49lbs lost. I'm tolerating everything, making good choices... Eating 3 meals and 3 Snacks a day. Sometimes a 4th meal if I need to. Getting about 650 calories a day, 60-78g of Protein, less than 50carbs, and about 18g of fat. I'm getting in my liquids but I could do better. I use the powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury unflavored and make a simple snoothie in the am- only once a day. The rest of my Protein comes from 2 sources of dairy and the rest meat :) Oh and exercise... Hum, I could do more. I swim and walk casually...

I was sleeved on 6/21 and as of today I am 43 lbs down!! It's been a rough 6 weeks, being rehospitalized for a week (dehydration) and then sent home with a PICC line and TPN every night. But just like that when I hit the 6 week mark I started feeling better and now am working on getting actual food in and Fluid. I have been off work for 7 weeks now and am actually looking forward to going back on Monday!! Exercise is slow going but I started walking a couple of days ago.... The journey continues!

Today am sad..I have been very sick because my sugar keeps dropping very low. The doctor said it don't happen very often that some patient might gets hyperglycemia after the surgery but a side of that I have acid-reflex that's killing me when I drink Water or eat anything. I usually weight myself once a month so I can see the difference. I have Lost 34 pounds already but now i'm in a stall since July 10th. I weighted myself today and am at the same weight as of July 10th...any suggestion.....:(

I have also had some difficulties with acid reflux. A time or two my sugar has dropped pretty low, and my blood pressure even dropped dangerously low. I have been loosing weight however, even though it seems slow compared to others.

I was in a stall for almost 2 weeks and got very frustrated... after some research and talking with other sleevers I decided to up my calories. I went from 400-500 to 800-1000 and the stall was over within 2 days =) Evidently when you don't eat enough to cover what your body burns during the day your body goes into starvation mode so up the calories and it should end! hope that helps!!

Hello to all.

I'm a late bloomer...My surgery was June 26 at Washington Hosp Center in Washington DC by Dr. Brebbia. He was very helpful and considerate and I felt comfortable with him, that was important to me. I started this journey in January this and weighed 289lbs, by the surgery date I was to 277 and as of Sept 6 I am 223 1/2lbs. I've lost 4 pants sizes (from size 50 to 46), lost 4 bra sizes & 1 cup size (from 50 DDD to 46 DD). I started my gym membership on yesterday and I feel good... and tired. I'm getting in my Protein (60-80 grams) each day.

My liquids - I do about 10 cups of Water and about 6 cups of (homemade, sweetened w/ splenda) Iced tea daily.

I have lost 44.60 since my surgery on June 11, 2012. I have been doing great. Getting in 80 to 90 even 100 grams of Protein in a day. Eating around 800 cals a day. Still only able to eat about 2 oz of meat.

Thank goodness I haven't had any horrible shoulder pain since mid August. I think the physical therapy exercises I do at home are helping alot.

I don't regret my decision to have sleeve surgery at all! :)

Hey everybody...

Doing great. Sleeved on 6/25, so this week is my 3 month anniversary. So far I have lost a total of 98 lbs. 35 pre-op and 63 post-op.

No complaints whatsoever.

I've slowly increased my activity level so I'm now walking, biking or doing elliptical nearly every day. I've just started light resistance training as well.

I've dropped from XXL shirts to L and 44 waist pants to 34.

Life is good and getting better. I have about 22-32 pounds to goal (somewhere in the 165-175 region would be normal BMI for me).

Luckily, I've never had a stall last longer than 2-3 days, usually when I ramp up my workouts the weightloss stops as I retain Water, probably for muscle repair/growth (my theory). With increased exercise I'm hitting closer to 800cals/day typically.

Tom

WTG Tom, you are doing great! Pam, looks like you are right on track! I am a little over 3 Months now. Lost around 50 lbs. Have about 70 - 80 lbs I would still like to lose. 60 lbs will put me at a healthy BMI weight (at the high end).

Doing Zumba 3 days per week. Riding my bike one day per week. Strength training 2-3 times per week.

Protein is a little low, at around 60 - 75. NUT wants it up to 90. Not sure on calories. Probably between 600 - 850.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
