lil4heartz 3 Posted June 25, 2012 Does anyone know any place besides your surgeons office to get it? I just trying not to pay almost $250 for 12 day supply.
PEvette 297 Posted June 25, 2012 Opitfast, you almost have to buy from the doctor's office.... Medifast you can buy online or at the nearest Medifast store front....but you are probably better off buying it online because if you goto a Medifast store front, they may not sale to you because you are not a member... lil4heartz 3 Posted June 26, 2012 I looked at Amazon and the shipping cost is crazy, I think I will have to go with ebay. Someone just told me that the Atkins shakes are the same, have the same nutritional volume and everything, but much cheaper. I know we have to be on the Optifast for 12 days prior to shrink the liver so I'm wondering if Atkins shakes do the same. I never heard of medifast before? kimbernada 190 Posted June 29, 2012 Do you have to use Optifast? The Bariatric Advantage Meal Replacement shakes are around $60 per bag (35 servings). Dietdirect.com has a coupon code AMERICA that will save you $17.76 on any order over $125 plus free shipping. I bought two bags of the BA shakes plus two Blender bottles and it came to a hair over $111. In addition to saving the $17.76 and free shipping, I also got 5% off as they have some sort of special where the more you buy, the more you save. My 2-week preop diet is three shakes a day plus one frozen dinner that has 320 calories or less - plus unlimited raw veggies, sugar free Jello, and sugar free popsicles. carbgrl 119 Posted June 30, 2012 My band doctor had me use Optifast in 2009. My sleeve doctor had me use Bariatric Advantage. I think they're very similar. I would use BA over Adkins.
thinmymind 107 Posted June 30, 2012 They were $3/drink at my drs, so $250 sounds high. Even at $3, though, you can get cheaper. A lot of people seem to like premier. Just find one with similar stats. Should not be hard, because the Optifast are a little higher in carbs than a lot of them. I make a shake with Unjury unflavored Protein Powder and skim chocolate milk and the calorie count is almost the same as Optifast.
