Okay I woke up feeling great this morning. So I had my usual Protein Drink and coffee. Then Water. Then fage 0% yogurt with peach and half banana pulverized in food processor, for lunch. More water.. Then some more broth. Oh I'm 6 days post surgery. Anyway I had the munches. Boredom not hungry. Then I put one of the little breaks tone cottage cheese pots with a little salsa on it and ran it thru food processor. More yogurt. And on and on. Then I began to feel bad. Gas pain returned. Stomach pain.

Basically just feel yucky. Lordie I hope I haven't done any damage to my sleeve. Will definitely follow my instruction to the letter of the law,

Are you drinking real coffee or decaff? Real coffee causes dehydration and being 6 days out from surgery I would definitely rethink it if it's caffeinated.

I would definitely talk with your doctor and nutritionist. I think sticking with more liquids for now is important. I am not allowed Tomato Soup at 20 days out because my doctor said it's too acidic for my sleeve. You had salsa, which is hard whether or not it's pureed 6 days after surgery.

Banana's even pureed is a bit hard on the stomach at 6 days. I was on Clear Liquids for 9 days, I know all doctors are different but I think you are rushing the stages and your stomach is not even close to being healed yet inside or outside your belly. Drink more Water and try to find something to occupy your head hunger.

I wish you the best of luck.

Please don't rush it. Would hate to see you get a leak. At 6 days you should still be on Clear Liquids or close to full liquids. Are you on mushies yet? If so, that is awfully quick. i would not even be having yogurt at 6 days, and certainly not a banana. Even when you get there, please watch the bananas, they are full of sugar. Iif you are drinking coffee, you should be drinking Decaf because caffeine will dehydrate you especially at this stage. Right now please concentrate on liquids and Protein. You do not want to get dehydrated. there is no reason to make your stomach ache or to be nauseated when you are this far out. It takes your stomach 12 weeks to heal. Please follow your doctors or NUT's instructions and don't vary from it. Your time will come sooner then you realize, but if you keep making yourself sick, he won't let you go to the next stage! Good luck!

Thanks sleevers good advice. I woke up feeling great this morning. Re-read my notebook I made with all my instructions, etc. I'm back on track and motivated to do the right thing. Guess I tested the sleeve and yes it works! Yes I drink de-caf coffee. I cup a day. Thanks again!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
