23 pounds in 9 weeks is nothing to sneeze at!! Are you drinking enough Water? Getting in enough Protein? Doing some exercise? Avoiding refined sugar and carbs? All of those things make me lose more slowly.

Perhaps now is a good time to try My Fitness Pal or another food logging site. List every bite you take and see if there is a trend.

Patience is also the most overlooked tool in this journey. Sometimes we just have to keep doing what is required and working towards our goal while our bodies decide to start letting go of some weight. We didn't gain it overnight; we won't lose it quickly either. :)

I'm wondering if that is just your weight loss pattern now... some people just don't lose every week. They "staircase" lose. Meaning that they go awhile without losing, then drop, then go awhile, then drop, etc. If that is how your body is, then these aren't stalls.

Also, what are you considering to be a stall? One week without losing? If you are losing on the staircase pattern then a stall would be much longer without weight loss. This is how I lose now.

As for being frustrated, I feel you! I think its easiest once you can get to a point where you realize that they happen and can accept it as part of the journey. It will always sucks, but it won't bring you down. You are doing everything right. Look at your overall... even if that was pre-op it still counts! I lost 40 pre-op and I never dropped large numbers post-op and I stalled quite a bit. But the numbers add up in the end. Right now everything is still new and its easy to want fast results. It will settle soon and you'll be able to appreciate each pound more, and not be so frustrated with the stalls.

My advice for stalls is always to focus on Water and Protein and not worry about the numbers. They will move!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
