Most of us use MyFitnessPal. Some use Lose It.

There is a Forum under Fitness & Exercise covering this. Most people use MyFitnessPal.com.

IMO, My Fitness Pal is the easiest app to use. It tracks Protein, carbs, etc and you can customize the calorie count and protein goals on the website. It also has a way to track your exercise and activity level. I use MFP in conjunction with my Fit Bit. They work well together to give a realistic picture of what you're eating and burning daily. I'm Lissa912 on there if you want to add me as a friend. :)

I use Livestrong (MyPlate). I find it's got pretty much the same features as MyFitnessPal, but they have a much larger food database. I could never find all my foods in FitnessPal.

I love my fitness pal! I use it with my fitbit and I have the wifi scale that is made by the fitbit people. It really keeps me on track , and I have lots of very supportive and motivating friends from this site! I used to use the live strong app, and sometimes reference it if I can't find a food on myfitness pal, but I like the overall interface better in my fitness pal. Feel free to add me- docangtx12

My nutritionist told me to use fit day because it has a pie chart of Protein, carbs, and etc. easy to look at.

I'm going to start using it tomorrow along with myfitness pal to jump start my weight loss again.

I have the Bodymedia band and I use their program because it tracks my calories out, steps taken and even tells me where my intensity was highest. And it tracks my sleep and the quality. Which is huge as far as weight loss goes. We need to make sure we have enough sleep to allow our bodies to rest and recovery from exercise. So I put in my intake and it tells me what my caloric deficit is.

The best part is...I got it for a song and dance on eBay. Lol. I love a bargain. My next purchase for this bit of technology...I can't wait to buy a smaller band!!

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
