ShouldBlittler 89 Posted June 24, 2012 Hello everyone... I just had my surgery on Wednesday, June 20th. I am having trouble getting in my liquids. I take a small sip of a liquid, and about 10 seconds later, I feel a gas bubble surface. This is uncomfortable. It makes me dread drinking. Will this feeling eventually go away? quietcougar 29 Posted June 24, 2012 Hmm...you're only 4 days out, so it's possible it's residual from surgery. I didn't have that problem, but my guess would be that yes, it will go away in a few days. You may want to call your doc's office just to let them know and see if they have any suggestions. LoriRay 27 Posted June 24, 2012 I was sleeved May 29th. I did get that too for about a week. I think its cause your sleeve and tummy are still swollen so it doesnt have any room yet. Once the swelling goes down it gets easier.
melyh0403 3 Posted June 24, 2012 I still have that at 5 weeks out. I burp constantly when I drink. Try taking smaller sips. I have what feels like a huge bubble in my chest after taking bites at times also. My surgeon said its completely normal and will go away although not everyone experienced it. Winningtheweightwar 25 Posted June 24, 2012 I was sleeved on June 18th and had a very similar experience! It has since gone away now it only happens if I forget and take a big sip. Give it a few days, but if your not comfortable definitely call your doc. Good luck!
