I Have Been Going About Excersice All Wrong

when i think about working out i think of it as a chore. i have always been the type to go above and beyond. well starting tonight i am only doing 20 mins on the treadmill. i get myself all worked up, like omg let me workout because in my head i have to go hard and do an hour the first time of working out. so i will give myself 20 mins on the treadmill for a week and see what happens.

Thats how I started out too, now I'm up to 40 mins on the treadmill, 15 on the elliptical and 20 on a recumbent bike. A lot less than others doing it longer than me, but I feel like I'm getting different areas and my heart rates up there, so thats all that matters. Good luck to you! :)

I started out doing FIVE minutes on the treadmill. Every little bit helps and you just have to build on what YOU can do today. I didn't know then about the 30 second thing, but it's a great idea. Basically, when you're working on a new routine/machine/habit, start with what you can do easily, then add 30 seconds a day. Before you know it, you'll be doing half an hour at a time! That's how I conquered the elliptical. I literally could only do a minute and a half when I started, about 5 weeks ago. Now, it's my preferred way to get my 30 minutes of cardio per day.

You will do fine. Take those baby steps, they turn into marathons! :)

thanks ladies. i was expecting more out of myself and i should of just took my time. thats why i would work out one day and than stop i was doing to much. my goal tonight is to do 20min i can do that.
