Not lose weight the week of your period? I don't feel bloodshed bloated or like I'm retaining Water but i haven't lost weight this week and I'm wondering if I'm alone or if it's common this time of the month.

I think just about everyone of us has this problem. Sometimes even gain. So no worries. It's normal. Usually when it's over, the next week it comes off a little faster.

While I was losing I went through a pretty peculiar routine of weight lose. The week before my period, I would stop losing weight. The week of my period, I would gain up to 5 pounds. The following week I would only lose what I gained the previous week and then the following week I would lose whatever weight I was going to lose the month. It's a bit of a mindf--k to lose 10-15 lbs ( in the early months) in just a couple days!!!! It taught me patience!!!! Lol

Not lose?? That would be wonderful... I gain... like 10 lbs. It goes away after, but still... it sucks!! Anyways, yes, it is completely normal. It also sometimes affects my weight the week before as well.

Yeah, I read somewhere that since your hormones go on break for that week, it's harder to see weight loss. But as soon as they start pumping again around day 4-7 (every woman is different), it should pick back up. I really wish I knew more about the chemical breakdown of hormones in the body and why that happens! Sucks to be a woman sometimes.

I ONLY lose after it goes away. That means I have a three week stall EVERY month and then lose 10-15 lbs that last week of the month. It's weird but my nutritionist said it wasnt uncommon.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
