I was just wondering how mush Hair loss do people have after the sleeve. I did some research between the by-pass and the Sleeve to see which one would be best for me. I noticed in the pros and cons that it said with the by-pass one of the cons is hair loss, but with the pro and cons one the sleeve is never mentioned hair loss. I brought this up because in my last steps class she said there will be hair loss. Is there a lot of hair loss, or hardly any hair loss?

We also have Hair loss. I don't think it's as bad. But any surgery, stress, or having a baby does the same. It will come back.

I had ALOT of Hair loss starting at 3 months post op but I started using Biotin, nioxin and doo goo and it is slowing down. There is no way I am cutting my hair, I only trim it occasionally, however I have had to decrease the coloring.

Okay, so this is a visual of my Hair loss. This is from my morning bath. There is no way my Hair growth can keep up with this loss. I will be bald at this rate.

I started losing hair about two weekday ago. Ugh...there wasn't a lot there to start with & its frustrating, but I look & feel so good that I don't care as much. We'll see how I feel about it in a few months!

I sure hope bald and skinny becomes the "in" thing as I am on my way to both. Lol!

Lol. I know how you feel. I hardly have that much hair. If I get this surgery I will probably be bald. Lol. Oh well, at least I will be healthy.

Yes, I'm looking forward to being under 150 pounds in a few months, hope that goal isn't too aggressive, my current weight is 201@ 5'4. Only four more days until surgery on 6/30 with Dr. Alvarez in Maexico.! I am worried a bit about my Hair loss also, I recently had a baby 3/25 and my edges already feel out in two spots near my temples from my c-section, I'm hoping for minimal to no hair loss during this sleeve recovery! Someone suggested I try Biotin, I'll start those after my surgey. great luck to everyone...I'm anxious & nervous, but more excited about be skinny soon & living a healthier lifestyle!

It will grow back. But i tell you what.... the other day, I cleaned out my round brush and it looked like I tried to drown a Yorkie in the toilet!! LOL It's totally worth it though.

My doctor insists that getting enough Protein will prevent it, but I get quite a bit of Protein, and it didn't seem to help. Everyone is different though.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
