First...sorry if this is answered elsewhere...i did look!

As i sit here (pre op ) on my sixth cup of gatorade + miralax....i wondered how on earth does one drink all this stuff for a colonoscopy once you're sleeved???? My full size stomach is about to pop with all this liquid!!

I don't know from experience, but I cannot imagine it being easy, or even possible. I can barely get in my Water, over the course of an entire day...

I have wondered the same thing myself. I have to have a colonoscopy on a yearly basis. I'm guessing that you may need to start the process a lot earlier in the day if not the day before (2 days before procedure.

This is exactly why I had a colonoscopy before my surgery date! I won't have to have another one for 5 years so hopefully by then I will be able to tolerate the Fluid by then. I used SuPrep though and only had to drink 16 oz with as much Water I could follow that up with. I tasted disgusting though, like sickly sucrose sweet raspberry saltwater.. UGH! Disgusting, my gag reflex was in going crazy. Thank God that it's all over with now!! LOL!!

Lol, I got a colonoscopy and yes you don't have to drink the whole thing or you can do it for a whole day. The point is to clean you out, litteraly

I had my colonoscopy about 9 months after my surgery. You are able to drink all the prep liquid, it just takes a little longer. I was able to finish it in about 2 hours. It was the taste and the amount of the liquid that was the problem, not the size of my stomach. You will do fine and it is a very important procedure to have done. It was my first one and it was not as bad as I thought it would be.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Had a sleeve in 2017, lost over 100 pounds. Had a DS surgery this year (2025) for more sustainable weight loss. 🤞

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
