For The Love Of Crackers

Recommended Posts

Anyone else love crackers?

I haven't started back on bread (and don't plan to), except for a tiny crust crumb here and there, but I do love my crackers.

I am not going overboard, or bingeing on crackers, but I like to have a cracker at lunch time or in the afternoon. I usually have about 100 calories of cracker a day.

My absolute favorites are the Dr. Krackers.

I like the Wasa with some turkey and Laughing Cow.

I got some rosemary and sea salt crackers at costco.

I bought some spicy saltine-looking things that were made in the grocery deli, but they were oily so the husband ate them.

Just about anything whole grain with seeds.

I am on the search for cracker recipes to make at home in small batches.

I love crackers and they settle my stomach - I buy Stoned wheat thins - they are small and three at a time fills me up.

Agreed, I have huge acid reflux problems and crackers are my salvation for instant relief, lol. Plus, I just love them.

Just love crackers and cheese or hot peppers. Always when dieting or trying to reduce food levels these would be my treat. Saltines rock!

I'm a cracker-a-aholic! I love my crackers and it's something I have really missed. My pre-op diet was 30g of carb or less so I havent had crackers in a long time. I'm on pureed now and was told I could eat a cracker as long as I turned it to mush in my mouth. I need to start with a saltine cause those seem very easy to "mush".

I have begun to replace the crisp of a cracker with dried edamame, soy nuts, kelp and such - I also found acracker made from pressing hard aged cheddar and baking the fat out of it...7 g protien!

Gosh, I love crackers, but I'm not eating them right now because I am limiting my carbs and it has helped me continue losing. I had a few long stalls already....I love reduced fat wheat thins and reduced fat triscuit with Laughing Cow cheese spread or tuna salad....

I will probably return to them when I am closer to goal...but for now I think I am better off without them!

Five weeks post surgery, I was allowed to try adding a cracker to my Soup. I was so excited for that cracker. Best saltine EVER! lol

I put it in my Tomato Soup and let it soften, and it went down fine.

I don't buy the Triscuits anymore. My husband will eat the whole box in one sitting as a snack. And he is a mostly "normal" sized guy. He is seeing the error of his ways lately, though. So he says! lol

Curious about the pressed aged cheddar cracker? Is this mass marketed or a local product? Sounds delish!

My favorites are Wasa (sourdough & sesame, don't care much for the other flavors)... a cracker called "Flatbread Crisps" in the sea salt & olive oil flavor... and I cn admit I love Cheez-Its and a DIY cheeze-it knock off I make at home.

I like Triscuts but am not yet willing to try them with my sleeve.

That's about it for crackers. :)

Oh you can also buy (or make yourself) "crackers" made from a baked parmesan mixture. They're really good. When I was doing Atkins I made them and while they were still hot I would fold them over a foil form -- homemade cheese taco shells. You can also buy the crackers at Whole Foods, and some other places I'm sure (though I've not seen anything like them at Trader Joe's).

I am not really a big cracker fan, but one of my favorite Snacks pre-sleeve was "thin crisps" (triscuits, but thin). I would get the flavored ones and then I would dip them in cottage cheese. YUMMY! I don't like cottage cheese plain, and i don't like the flavored crackers alone... but together it was delicious!

I am sure I have had the "Flatbread Crisps" but I don't recall where I got them.

Do you not find Cheez-Its to be a slider?

I am trying to steer towards the whole grain crackers, and I really want to make my own. I need to google that. I have a Pasta maker that would probably be better used making cracker dough.

I love Kellogs Multi grain Fiber crackers. They are getting hard to find. I get them at K Mart, of all places. They aren't all that bad, carb wise either. I love to eat a few with a Babybell cheese (Light)

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support
