Let's see, in the mushy phase I was eating refried Beans with green chili, spicy hot v8 is a daily thing(almost)

BTW, my wife is Hispanic, and I pretty much eat whatever she does. Plus I couldn't live without Kim-Chee, and I just had a bowl of Thai green curry. Oh yeah, I love Sriracha in my egg drop Soup.

So I guess I'd say spicy food is no problem.

Gastricsleeve4me' date=' are you eating whatever! I mean are you able to eat something and swallow it without throwing up later. I can't eat anything but an egg.[/quote']

Yeah, I've been pretty lucky that way (depending on how you look at it). I haven't had a single food that's not agreed with me yet. Though I do stick to recommended foods and don't eat junk, so not sure what that would do to me. 11 weeks out and no throwing up yet.

Sorry to hear you've got a sensitive tummy :( have you tried many things? Early on my faces were yogurt, refried Beans, and cheese. You may just be early out and your tummy is adjusting. I definitely didn't rush into new foods. I took my time over several weeks, only ever introducing one new thing at a time. I'm sure you'll get to a place where you can at other foods, just go slow. Best of luck!

Thanks! Gastricsleeve4me! I went back to liquids this morning. The day of the surgery I weighted 246lbs. One month and 4 days after being sleeved I now weight 199lbs. I feel I'm loosing weight too fast. So, I guess I'm kinda scared due to throwing up so much. Not really getting food in. Well, liquids are staying in, so I'm good for now.

I'm pretty sure I'll never be able to give up hot & sour Soup. I hope my sleeve will cooperate!

I haven't been tolerating spicy food but Hot & Sour doesn't bother me! So, yeah, me!! :-)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
