When working out is it better to spend more time working out or to burn more calories Example I can walk. 60 minutes burn 300 calories or incline 45 minutes and burn 500.is it time or calories I should worry about???

I tend to concentrate more on time than calories. I don't know if that's right or not, but I'm required to do at least 30 minutes of cardio per day to stay off a prescription drug. That may influence my mindset. :)

Why dont you mix it up and get the best of both? Just a thought.....

I'm trying to walk every day. I eventually wanna be able to run/jog. Baby steps ya know!!!

Boots, That's how we all have to start. Keep taking those baby steps until you're ready for the next level! :)

BTW, my 30 minutes of cardio a day elicited the best comment I've ever heard from a doctor. He said my new EKG (as opposed to one a year ago) was "sexy as he$*)! I've improved my cardiac functioning and breathing enough that he says my effective age is a year younger than my actual age... and TEN YEARS younger than my EKG and breathing tests showed this time last year. Woo Hooo. :)

Im not an expert, but I have been told by a trainer and I myself have used both time and intensity during exercise. I use interval training ( ex: walk 5, run 3, walk 3 , run 8, walk 5 , ect...) Just increase your incline or your speed as you can to make new goals. Check out some running apps like 5K Free and Couch to 5K.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
