cynthia4722 74 Posted June 19, 2012 It looks my surgery is set for July 1. I am planning on driving home about two weeks after surgery with my brother. He will do all the driving. He has a RV, so the ride should be comfortable. However it is a long drive. !4 hours. Did any of you drive long distances home, if so how did you feel? mesaucedo 207 Posted June 19, 2012 I drove 8 hours straight a few days out from surgery, I just brought a bunch of shakes/waters and it was ok. I was a bit stiff the day after though, nothing too bad.

Did any of you drive long distances home, if so how did you feel? 10 days out, I drove home from Dallas to Albuquerque. I actually did most of the driving, as my mom cannot do major highways with the big trucks. I had a blanket to buffer the seatbelt and made sure I was off my pain meds for the drive. I did just great. If I was only being a passenger, I would have been even better. (I could've kept taking the pain meds! )
