Fatigue & Weakness ....

Recommended Posts

I was sleeved May 10th, almost seven weeks! Just think about what we have been through, first of all the two week pre op, we are addicts our body goes through withdrawels. Then we have major surgery, talk about stress.....worrying about walking, sipping. Then we worry about food we can and cant eat, will i stretch my sleeve, am i eating to fast? I gotta walk, i have no energy.

I told my mom i thought before surgery my world revolved around food, i was fooled, now it really does! BUT I LOVE IT!!!

Take your time breath, pray and go with it! We are recovering addicts, we have all seen movies what drug addicts go through getting clean. Our drug of choice was/is food!

Hi guys,it's me again! Question, I'm feeling very fatigue & weak, I sleep alot, my primary doctor said the reason for this I'm eating much, nor intaking enough Protein. It's just I'm so tired. I want to take a walk, when I finish putting on my gear, I'm pooped!! Im coming off my weight real good, but there's always a but, my nutritionist said she need me to get so much protein in, because of the muscle in the body etc. I just need to know what can I do. I take b12injections also. Thanks guys

Hi everyone ! I was sleeved June 11th & seem to be doing pretty well except for some serious fatigue & weakness . I just barely got through my shower today without being completely drained ! Especially after using my arms above my head to wash my hair ! I had to get out & rest & catch my breath before I could even dry off ? Is this normal ? Does it eventually go away ? And how long does it usually take gain your strength back ?

I was sleeved 6/7. I take a walk through a nature trail at a park near my house. I was huffing and puffing on the way back but it felt nice to finally have the energy to do it.

My surgery was three months ago, and I experienced extreme fatigue as well along with feeling very light headed when standing for more than a few minutes. I finally got my doctor to do blood work, and found out that my potassium was low. After about a week on a potassium supplement I felt dramatically better. It makes a lot of sense that with a high Protein diet with very little fruit or vegetables we are not taking in the required amounts of potassium our bodies need.

Might be worth getting a blood test just to see. Best wishes to you. Hope you start feeling better quickly.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
