justthenorm 0 Posted June 18, 2012 Hello Everyone, First of, this forum is lovely i have been reading this forum since before i decided to be sleeved. Very inspirational, and just got the courage to do a post and introduce myself. So here it goes... Im a guy, rather young, 19 years old. I started this journey last August 2011 weighing 417lbs. Bad i know. I decided on the sleeve because i am young and want to live a rather normal life. I decided to see if my insurance would cover it before i go on the route of self pay. So i found out it was and was referred almost immediately by PCP to kaiser SSF. With some bumbs in the road, i had my orientation this past february and weighed in at 402. Through the following months i stuck with the diet plan strictly and on Surgery day 6/11 i weighed in at 357lbs. So i am now a week out and still having pains but am very happy so far. So there is my brief journey so far...

5DoxieMom 87 Posted June 18, 2012 Welcome. I wish that this surgery would have been available when I was young....it would have possibly saved decades of misery. So, you are fortunate in that regard. Best wishes and happiness in your many years of happy, healthy living...make the most of it!
