ChristyLove 39 Posted June 18, 2012 I was told that sometimes your body mixes up being thirsty with hungry. Next, a lot of post op people said the hunger turned out to be stomach acid and the doctor put them on an anti-acid.
aouzenian 5 Posted June 18, 2012 I'm already on Prevacid. I'm not thirsty. Just hungry.
PollyBlue 22 Posted June 18, 2012 Yep, I had this too. I had to change my PPI as it wasn't working. Even now I feel "hungry" sometimes, but it isn't real hunger. Real hunger often now presents as feeling light-headed and weak - THEN you know you have to eat. Everyone is different though, but the vast majority of us who experience hunger early out are experiencing a form of reflux.
Teddy bear 42 Posted August 14, 2012 I'm almost 2 months prior to VS, lost almost 40 lb, and these days I noticed also that I am constantly hungry.... It's very frustrating.....I'd just eaten and feel full.... half an hour later I'm hungry again.... I ignore it most of the times, or just drink lots of Water, today when I couldn't control it anymore I tried eating half an apple, then a small carrot..... don't wanna binge on calories, but the hunger remains... I don't know if it's in my head or my body just needs food? ???
geno5150 168 Posted August 14, 2012 I think you need to eat more Protein instead of apples or carrots. That will stick in your sleeve much longer.
