MinaT 669 Posted June 18, 2012 Keep a positive attitude, remember the pain will pass, when you think you can get up and walk. As for antinausea medication if you feel nauseated. There is NO reason to feel nauseated because there is a plethora of medications to help. If they have give you a spirometer USE IT, while you are awake remember to reach for it and use it so you don't end up getting pneumonia. Positive attitude going in goes a long way to how you will respond when you come out of surgery. Think of your favorite song and hum it to yourself while your passing the time in the prep time. Good luck and best wishes.
DuranFan1969 119 Posted June 18, 2012 You'll be great and on the losers bench in no time. Make sure they give you pain meds every 4 hours and walk every 4 hours or less. Good luck!!
