Tater 2 Posted June 17, 2012 I gained all this weight over 10 years ago so why do people ask me it's something different about you but I can't figure it out? I say yes I had WLS and in a surprising way they say yes that's it when it was obvious. Are they faking it or am I that big you can't tell I lost over 50lbs in less than 90 days? grannyk 58 Posted June 18, 2012 When we are morbidly obese (I hate that terminology), it does take a while for the "something different" to be obvious. We notice it more because we can feel the difference in our clothes and the way we feel, but it takes a little longer for the outside world to wake up. Just hang in there and pretty soon the obvious will be undeniable. Kathe
Kiloalphatango 13 Posted June 18, 2012 If they see you everyday its very hard to tell! Hopefully you will see some people soon you haven't seen in a while and they should notice, but the daily even weekly people won't see the difference sadly
Gene1970 179 Posted June 18, 2012 Some people may not be comfortable saying "oh... I see you've lost weight" because if they are wrong, well then they feel stupid and you feel bad... but if they say something is different and you tell them... well then it's all good. It's like asking a women when her baby is due only to find out that she's not pregnant... . My guess is that is what is happening. 1 shangefan reacted to this

wanderlust_76 47 Posted June 18, 2012 I have to admit I laughed when I read this because I have thought the same thing! My husbands family is the worst. I think people believe if they ask if you lost weight, they are calling you fat.
