jdbrown8 2 Posted June 17, 2012 I was sleeved may 23, 2012. And have lost 40lbs! I have started running, riding bikes, and finally have enough energy to keep up with my three little ones. I have not had many negatives with this surgery except I'm so bored with the food choices ( yogurt, Soup, eggs, sugar free pudding). And I'm sick of people's negative feed back like well you look great but I bet you could of done this with out the surgery, can't they just he happy for me. I kinda just think their jealous. Maybe I should bag up my fat clothes and give it to them! How do you deal with the negative comments? 1 shelleyrn22 reacted to this
MinaT 669 Posted June 17, 2012 How to deal with negative comments, when they say something negative say wow, do you realize how rude and ignorant you sound? If it's a boss, probably wouldn't say that, but me, I'm bold and in your face enough to say that to someone. I love to see the look on someone's face when you call them on their rudeness lol. Some people can't be happy for you. You need to just let stuff like that go because in the end it's up to you on how you let them effect you. They don't really have the real power to hurt you, unless you let them. Tell them they are rude, or let it go with the full realization that they are not bright enough to realize they are being an a$$hat. You really don't need to deal with the negativity of others, there's a ton of them out there, we all have several of them in our life, they can only hurt us if we let them. Are you onto pureed yet? At 2 weeks I was told I have several more weeks of full liquids and truthfully think I'm going to have an issue with it because I don't tolerate sugar-free ingredients well at all. I have never been able to tolerate them. I just want to get my Protein in and when Protein Shakes cause such violent bathroom issues consistently it's really hard to get my protein in. Nate 292 Posted June 17, 2012 Others don't know what it's like to be you, or what may or may not have led you to make the choices you have made. Just don't take people's comments to heart. YOU know you made the best decision for you and you're opinion is the one that matters most. Screw what all the negative people think.
jdbrown8 2 Posted June 17, 2012 Yes I'm on stage two. Those are the only foods my surgeon allows plus mash potatoes but they have such little Protein I usually don't eat them. I don't care much for the sugar free pudding so I mostly eat yogurt and Soup or eggs when ever I can, they tend to not go down to good. I know that the negative comments should not hurt me but when they come from my best friend or family they tend to sting alittle. But I feel great so I'm trying to ignore their comments and look better and better every time I see them or find new friends!

Just today a "friend" said something like she wants to become a personal trainer so she can help people so they don't have to get wls...UMMMM HELLER???? and she's overweight, I was like say what?????...I have been at goal and normal bmi for over a year now and COULD NOT HAVE DONE THIS WITHOUT SLEEVIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I told her I THANK GOD EVERYDAY for sleevie!! And I know I would have gained it all back and then some if I had not have had sleevie, and I can't live without eating carbs, sorry! She has been to 2 events and doesn't eat at all, I would never been able to live like that the rest of my life, never...UGH I always say to each his own, why do people have to make comments like that???? it's so sad, and hurtful...ok, I'm done lol.
