8 Boxes For Goodwill- And Still More Clothes To Go Through

Recommended Posts

For years, I have "collected" various size clothes as my weight has yo yo'd over the years. And, as someone who hates shopping, this was just the way I chose to deal with having to wear different size clothes all these years. I literally had about 25' of clothes on hangers down in the basement ranging from sizes 8 to 26. I've had to go through my closet over the past year several times as my weight has gone down, but for some reason it has taken me until now to get the guts to really shed these clothes ONCE and FOREVER! Part of me is a little nervous to let them go for that fear of "what if".... but many of these clothes now are not in style, so its not all bad. ;-)

Anyhow, I got 8 boxes of clothes, work, casual, etc... shoes and such.... and they are now loaded in the car and I'm off to the Goodwill store shortly.

The ironic thing is I'm now wearing smaller clothes than anything I had down in my "basement store". I just can't believe I can wear size 4's!!!

Wow...that makes me wish I had calculated how much I would have had if they were all hung up!

I think I have gave away just about all hubby will let me give away, boxes and boxes and friends literally dropping buy and building outfits, lol...there is alot that had tags still on it, or just cost too much to give away. I now have to ebay them, lol.

Thanks guys, yeah, my car held all it could- so needless to say it was my 1st stop as i went about my errands. It was actually a freeing experience to get rid of those clothes now.

And, I sure did get a receipt for my taxes. Wonder what the limit will be on what I can claim- guess i will find out next Spring. LOL

What an inspiration!! I hope that I can do the same thing in a year (I also have quite the collection of clothing). Plus the fact that you are wearing a smaller size now than any of your old clothes!

Thanks for sharing. :)

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Had a sleeve in 2017, lost over 100 pounds. Had a DS surgery this year (2025) for more sustainable weight loss. 🤞

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
