BPC 15 Posted June 17, 2012 After three months of classes and appointments and all of those hoops that you have to jump through, just 8 days after submitting to my insurance for the first time I'm approved. They told me that it would take at least 30 days to hear back so I was ok with that. So I get the phone call yesterday while i was at work from my doctor's office telling me this wonderful news and for some reason I was suddenly nervous and almost shaking. I was so stunned at how quick it came through that the lady calling me had to ask me twice I believe whether I wanted to schedule or not. July 31st is my big day. Omg. 1 Lissa reacted to this
traceyinflorida 499 Posted June 17, 2012 I felt exactly as you did when I finally got the call and we set the date for only two weeks later. I was nervous and shaky. All those months of preparation and suddenly I had cold feet. Walking into the hospital on surgery day, I felt so close to bolting. But I made it through with flying colors. All the things I was nervous about turned out to be nothing. I am only two weeks post op and I feel great and am losing weight. Just focus your thoughts on your end goals. When I first made the decision to do this, I had written down all the reasons I wanted to do this just in case I felt scared, or discouraged. It will really help you to focus on your "WHY". Good luck to you and let us know how all turns out! 1 BPC reacted to this

karenb4729 309 Posted June 17, 2012 Congratulations! I remember feeling slightly nauseated and nervous when I got my approval. I went back and forth so many times because the idea of surgery just terrified me. I was so tempted to run out of the pre-surgery area.... but, I also know that no diet is going to work for me for the long term and I want to get rid of my CPAP machine, my GERD, and the potential of a multitude of other weight related problems. I'm 54 years old and now is the time to make a change so I can still enjoy the years I have left!
kellybart4 2 Posted June 17, 2012 I think we all feel overwhelmed when we get the call. I was called on the 8th of June due to a cancellation on the 29th and had to get all my pre op stuff done the following Monday. Now I am on my two weeks of liquid diet. Taking it one day at a time. BPC 15 Posted June 17, 2012 It's so cool how people can come together when they share a common interest and support each other. Even total strangers sometimes are more positive than coworkers or friends. 1 ShouldBlittler reacted to this
DuranFan1969 119 Posted June 17, 2012 Congrats, this is going to be an exciting time for you!! One of the biggest things that got me through to the post-op side was visiting these forums and really educating myself on what happens and what to expect - it's a huge tool to use and sure helps calm the nerves.
