Littlemiss, everything went well. I haven't had too many problems. My blood sugar levels have been really good over the past few days & I'm not even on meds...yay!

I have had a few complications, but nothing to worry about too much...

My potassium levels were down & my white blood cells count was/is elevated. They gave me meds for the potassium issue, but they haven't done much for the white blood cell problem.

Also, my blood levels dropped this morning but I'm anemic...so that's not uncommon. Anyway, I'm doing great! The only physical pain that I feel is coming from the incision with the drain. I will feel much better when that is removed.

All in all, I can't complain! The hospital staff is fabulous!!! I'm just ready to go home. I have to repeat my labs at noon, and if all is well I can go home...yay!!! Although, I am not in a rush. I want everything to be on point before I leave.

Please overlook any grammatical errors. I just took my pain medication.

Take care & thanks for checking on me.

Thanks girl! Yes, I'm definitely going to do weigh-ins. I'm not sure if I want to be a slave fo the scale though. I know me & I will become obsessed with checking my weight. I'm thinking monthly (or even bi-weekly). Now, keep in mind that I am saying that now but I probably won't be able to stay off of that scale. Lol

Lol...that's what I am going to try to avoid. I don't know if I will be successful, but I will try. Sn: I lost 10.5 lbs so far. I didn't really follow the plan for the pre-op diet; so, I'm proud of myself!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
